Board of Management

The Board of Management oversees the running of Rathcoffey N.S., ensuring that the school is managed in line with its ethos, policies, and the best interests of pupils and staff.

 

Each Board serves a four-year term and brings together representatives of the Patron, parents, staff, and the wider community.

About the Board

The Board of Management is responsible for the overall leadership and governance of the school.

 

Its key duties include:

 

  • Preparing and implementing the school plan

  • Appointing the Principal, teachers, and other staff

  • Ensuring the school fulfils its legal functions under the Education Act (1998)

  • Supporting positive links between the school, parents, and the wider community, including the Parents’ Association

  • Managing the school’s finances and maintaining proper accounts, which may be audited by the Department of Education or the Comptroller and Auditor General

  • Ensuring the school has appropriate insurance cover

 

 

The Board’s term of office lasts for four years, after which members may be reappointed.

Our Current Board

The current Board of Management took office on 1st  December 2023 and will serve a four-year term.
